Head of Marketing

General Summary

This is a leadership position that requires you to excel in digital and traditional marketing while working in an extremely fast-paced, technology-focused, startup environment.

She/he will oversee all marketing efforts at adRise, particularly focusing on digital marketing, which will include user acquisition of free and paid video-on-demand applications on the largest CE devices. Candidates with recent experience launching mobile apps and websites with a heavy focus on user acquisition and funnel optimization are highly preferred.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong foundation of digital and traditional marketing experience but is eager to establish their leadership and marketing prowess on a growing company with a large consumer footprint. We are seeking someone who wants the opportunity to lead, feels confined by the limitations of their past jobs, and believes their skillset growth and impact on past companies has been substantial but will certainly be exponentially greater in the future with an opportunity to lead.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of digital and traditional marketing experience including SEO, social, email/newsletters, user acquisitions, A/B testing, etc.
  • Experience managing strategy development, user acquisition funnels, and messaging
  • Demonstrated solid management experience and track record in leading, motivating and building strong teams
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-functional teams
  • Preferred: PR experience and generating market interest in company announcements

Responsibilities

  • Videos apps and web -- manage marketing for Tubi TV, adRise content partner video apps, and adRise
  • Coordinate and inspire product development and engineering to incorporate new features and functionality across all the platforms that Tubi TV or adRise content partner apps are on
  • Lead email, social media, and PR marketing initiatives
  • Lead weekly sprints to acquire users, increase marketing presence, iterate and persuasively work with the team to determine strategy and allocate company resources and focus
  • Lead strategic partnerships with existing adRise content and advertising partners to accelerate marketing goals.
  • Brand adRise in the content and advertising worlds; strengthen our outreach and visibility to the film and TV and advertising worlds, both of which are strategic pillars of adRise's business.

Senior Visual Designer

Job description

We're hiring a UI designer to lead the design efforts for adRise (http://adrise.com), a dynamic TV startup. This is an opportunity to establish your design name and aesthetics to a large and growing consumer space: streaming video of film and TV content. Prefer local candidates.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience working in a UX department focusing on both visual and interaction design and a proven track record of delivering beautiful and engaging user experiences.
You will lead the creation of the adRise design language. This means you will:
  • Author a style guide and owning the design principles that will inform the design and personality of all adRise products.
  • Think strategically and execute with great attention to detail.
  • Effectively present design ideas and communicate design rationale.
  • Partner with product management in the design of user interfaces for applications and web properties in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment (includes creating wireframes to aid ideation as well as delivering pixel-perfect visual specification documents as guides for engineers).
  • Create graphic assets (i.e. icons, glyphs, thumbnails) for use in applications and web properties.
  • Be comfortable in core front-end web development technologies (HTML/CSS) and be responsible for implementing the final designs (in the case of web deliverables). Proficiency with JavaScript/JQuery is a plus.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a UX department
  • Minimum 3 years launching successful consumer-facing applications and/or websites
  • Ability to drive projects from concept to completion
  • Ability to articulate and convince regarding the “why” of design decisions
  • Demonstrates excellent use of typography, iconography, color, imagery, and graphic elements

Video Content and Advertising Operations Manager

Job description

Content-related duties
  • Transcode videos and trouble-shoot video issues
  • Edit videos and images
  • Prepare TV applications with the necessary videos, images, and related metadata
  • Work with the engineering and graphic design teams to build and maintain TV applications
  • Work with device manufacturers to coordinate the submission, QA and publishing of applications
  • Manage film and TV content owners to on-board them to adRise's platform and maintain those on-going relationships
Advertising-related duties
    Lead the ad operations for advertising campaigns across TV applications and mobile devices Coordinate and manage the relationships with ad partners and their campaigns (ad networks, agencies, and brands) Handle and problem-solve ad operations bugs and campaign changes Negotiate ad budgets and related terms with ad partners

Qualification

  • Has savvy communications skills to be informative, problem-solving, and managerial when dealing with executives from the content or advertising worlds.
  • Must be thorough, reliable, and has an attitude of ensuring projects reach completion (which may require managing others).
  • Experience building over-arching processes to organize previously chaotic or overlapping processes. This requires attention to detail as well as being strategic in how to create new processes or adjust existing ones.
  • Comfort working with Macs and PCs. Basic experience working with scripts and Linux environments is preferred or be willing to learn
  • Preferred, but not required: One or two years of experience working in ad operations or video production or, generally, at a media company.
  • Preferred, but not required: Knowledge of video and audio codecs and transcoding/encoding.
  • Preferred, but not required: Experience working with FFMPEG and tape-to-digital transfers.
  • Preferred but not required: Prior ad operations experience, managing ad campaigns; handling VAST tags, working with ad servers, etc.
